Issue 93 of eye magazine includes a very useful insight into Olivier Kugler's process, influences and values. Considering it was Olivier who suggested this brief (7001) in the first place (loosely speaking) it's rather fortuitous that this article arrives now. Useful insight includes discussion on the separation of 'interview' and drawing - I feel I'm very much leaning too much toward the drawing and this, it is suggested is also where Olivier's work was, some years back, when he begun to develop his individual approach. This suggests that I should be prepared for a transitional period rather than expect the arrive at perfect results by the end of this brief. I'll be satisfied knowing that I've progressed. Olivier has also recently agreed to field question and offer feedback RE my work. |
